We found this IKEA cabinet on Facebook Marketplace for just $20 USD. We’re passionate about showing how a little creativity can save furniture from landfill and give it a second life. And the best part? You get a completely unique piece that feels like your own. With fresh paint and different combinations of furniture legs and knobs, we turned this one second-hand find into six different looks.
A fresh coat of paint for the TV bench
To repaint the TV bench, we chose Jotun LADY Tre & Panel Supreme Finish in Silkematt, shade NCS S5005-G50Y. First, sand the surface lightly for a smooth base, then apply a suitable primer. Finish with two thin coats, letting each coat dry thoroughly before applying the next. This muted green gives the BESTÅ a fresh look and lets the burgundy knob stand out.
No Pre-Drilled Holes? No Problem! Add Furniture Legs with Universal Fitting Plates
Since our old IKEA cabinet didn't have any pre-drilled holes for furniture legs, we used Prettypegs' Universal Fitting Plates.
