Styling a sofa is like having a blank canvas just waiting for some colour (or legs) to bring it to life. And with a new season, comes another chance to turn your sofa into a blank canvas once again – that’s why we’ve brought together some of our favourite IKEA sofa hacks for you to be inspired!
The Karlstad sofa is truly an IKEA classic and is the perfect canvas to elaborate with your own unique style. The covers are removable and easy to replace as well as the legs - which makes it the perfect sofa if you like updating it once in a while. We love that @frokenrubinen added our Gösta leg in shiny chrome to give the sofa that extra spark. And the best thing about our Gösta leg, is that you can choose how to place the leg - with its flat side in for a more subtle impression, or, facing outwards for a more bold impression. What’s your choice?!
A great and definitely affordable way of updating your old couch is to give it a go with fabric markers in matching (or why not contrasting?!) tones. Cindy Zell kept it quite toned-downed but oh so effectful with a mustard yellow, grey and black in irregular patterns. To elevate the sofa even more, she added our Carl 230 sofa legs in Ash natural for some extra height and style. See all legs that fit Söderhamn sofas!
Unsurprisingly, nature-inspired interiors and deep forest greens will always be a top trend but maybe now more than ever as people want to invite nature into their homes having spent over a year inside due to lockdown. Seen here is IKEA’s Vallentuna modular sofa with IKEA’s own forest green sofa cover, perfect for gathering the whole family. Our Barbro 100 sofa legs in natural ash also adds a touch of playfulness to this minimalistic corner.
We're loving this ode to the '70s with this acorn coloured velvet sofa and otherwise minimalist setting in the home of @the.aesthetic.eye. The neutrals highlight the glamorous sheen of the crushed velvet sofa cover from Bemz and our tilted Dagmar 230 sofa legs makes this IKEA sofa a true statement piece.
Chic boho vibes in the home of @jackie_inspires with the off white Söderhamn sofa, layered textiles and soft neutrals. Adding some black elements like our Ture leg ads character and perfectly complements the neutrals. And adding a throw or blanket on your sofa is not only handy for cosy evenings, but it can add a pop of colour to your scheme, or if it's neutral, can soften the overall design.
Inspired by warm minimalism, this elegant living room in the home of @bythun features earthy and neutral tones. Adding layers of textile and a neutral but warm palette makes the room feel calm and inviting and is perfect when setting the stage for fall. The Harald legs are Prettypegs own twist of the mid-century modern hairpin legs, which definitely adds some extra style and sophistication.
